Gran Dolmen with remains of the outer stone circles

The Gran Dolmen ( German  "large dolmen" ) is located west of Montehermoso near Caceres in Extremadura in Spain .

The dolmen has a round chamber made of closely spaced monoliths with a long, wide passage. The ceiling extension has not been preserved. The dolmen were covered with a mound of earth from which the remains of several concentric circles of megaliths are partially contained. The round chamber, which has similarities with the domes Cerro de la Barca and Lácara , has been robbed of its hill that once covered it.

Nearby are the Dolmen del Tremedal and the Dolmen de la Gran Encina .
