The Graz Integrated Library System , GRIBS for short , was an integrated library system developed and used in Austria , whereby only the automated loan posting was actually implemented and could be put into operation. GRIBS first went into operation in 1979 at the University Library in Graz and was replaced by new systems such as BIBOS in the 1980s . GRIBS played a pioneering role for later library systems and was the first important system in Austria.

history

GRIBS was developed from 1976 at the University Library in Graz in cooperation with the then planning office for academic librarianship. The only realized module, the loan system, went into operation in Graz in 1979 and was subsequently taken over by the University Library of Vienna , the University Library of Linz and the University Library of Salzburg .
