Curtis Jones (born April 26, 1968 in Chicago ), known as Green Velvet (in earlier years also Cajmere ), is a DJ and producer in the electronic music scene .
Career
First he started his DJ career under the stage name Green Velvet (Eng. "Green Velvet"), later he also used this name for his non-vocal releases, which he brought out from the mid-90s.
Towards the end of the 90s, Green Velvet increasingly supplements its DJ work with live gigs, which put his work as a producer more in the foreground. In 1999, Green Velvet's debut album, Constant Chaos, was released on the Belgian label Music Man . A short time later, his tracks from previous years are also published on two compilations. The breakthrough came in 2001 with his album Whatever and the hit single La La Land contained on it . This was the first song to hit the charts. At that time, Green Velvet was already an internationally known figure in the techno scene.
