Greenbase eG , previously IRMS community of interests of lawn mowers and motorized equipment specialty workshops , is a purchasing cooperative based in Ostfildern . The testing association is the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative Association .

Greenbase is an association of around 300 specialist dealers. Since 2015 she has also operated an online shop and sells to end consumers. It represents the interests of regional specialist retailers and tries to differentiate them from discounters and hardware stores.

history

The cooperative emerged from a regulars' table on November 6, 1971 of eight lawnmower sellers in Scharnhausen . It was decided there that purchasing should be handled together in the future. Heinz Dietrich took over the administrative management of the purchasing community at the beginning. Due to the favorable purchasing conditions, more and more retailers joined and the cooperative lost its regional character and became active throughout Germany. In the course of time a registered cooperative was founded and Heinz Dietrich became its director. In 1997 Ingolf Gebhart became his successor. In 2018 the name was changed to Greenbase eG after the online shop that had been in operation since 2015.
