Grimming Castle
The Grimming Castle (also called Ledererhaus , Lederer-Mandl-Haus or Lebzelterhaus ) is located in the municipality of Tamsweg in the Lungau of the State of Salzburg (Amtsgasse 10).
history
In 1430 the Grimming Castle was first mentioned in a land register . After a fire in the war against Emperor Friedrich III. was the seat of the Lords of Moosham (1480–1600) and then of the Lords of Grimming (1600–1717). After 1720, various leather families lived in the building . The building has been owned by the Mandl family since 1878.
Grimming Castle - Ledererhaus today
The house is three-story with vaults on the ground floor. The so-called knight's hall was divided into several rooms in 1940 and part of the ceiling was brought to the Tamsweg Museum. A fresco from the 18th century probably depicts the miraculous image of Maria Plain .
The last tanner operation was closed in 1956. After that, a leather goods shop was operated in the house. The owner is Gerwald Mandl.
