Great freedom (band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Great freedom was the name of a music group from Hamburg . It was founded in 1980 by Martin Georg Grunwaldt (synthesizer, vocals) and Michael Wentzel. They were reinforced in 1981 by Johann Bley (drums) and Hans-Jürgen Piel (bass), who previously played in hall 2 .

With the record label ZickZack Records , which had many experimental bands from the Hamburg area under contract, two records were released. The musk function in 1982 was positively appreciated in the sounds . The piece of espresso machine came from Franz Josef Degenhardt . Also when I'm happy is a cover version , originally by the Comedian Harmonists . Piroschka followed in 1983, which was seen more cautiously as "silly". John Peel played their B-side One Man Too Many (at the grill) in his radio program at BFBS , where he had also presented the pieces from the first record. The duo Grunwaldt & Bley performed on January 4th, 1988 (broadcast on January 9th, 1988 at 3:00 p.m. on ARD) at Formula One with Shout It Loud !!! on - absurdly wearing rubber gloves on his head. In 2001 Grunwaldt released a solo album Rückblende .
