Martin Sancassani (born in Hamburg in 1957 as Martin Grunwaldt ) is a German musician and artist.

Life

At the age of 17 he learned the trade of lithographer . In 1981 he began a career in the music business as a songwriter, singer and performer when he founded the new wave group Große Freiheit . Two works were published under the ZigZag label by Alfred Hilsberg . In 1987 his subsequent band Grunwaldt and Bley was founded under the producer Klaus Voormann . The band had numerous television appearances and was a support act on the tour of the band Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1987 . The solo project Springtime followed in 1989 , released under the Chrysalis Records label . The last publication Rückblende appeared in 2001 on the label KdF.

In 2007, Sancassani began making box guitars from boxes of cigars and champagne. At the same time, he completed training in systemic social therapy and devoted himself to social youth projects. At the same time as the box guitars were being built, he developed the "Freufische", initially also for therapeutic purposes.

Martin Sancassani is married and lives in Schwerin .
