Zickzack Records is a record label from Hamburg . Founded in 1980 by the journalist Alfred Hilsberg , it has since made a name for itself in the context of the Neue Deutsche Welle , a term that Hilsberg coined in his Sounds article "Neue Deutsche Welle - Aus Grauer Stadt Wauern".
Since then, the label has been a platform for many German independent bands - in the early 1990s it promoted Blumfeld and other central bands from the Hamburg School . At the beginning of the 21st century, for example, Parole Trixi , Jens Friebe and the Monostars published on the label. For example , in the decade ZickZack released Doctorella , Candelilla and The Schwarzenbach.
