Brockdorff Sound Laboratory

Brockdorff Klang Labor (BKL) is a German electropop band from Leipzig . The band consists of the members Nadja von Brockdorff (Nancy Böttner), Sergej Klang (Marcus Psurek) and Ekki Labor (Eckhart Petzold).

The band released their first song “Tausend Bunte Lichter” in 1997. In addition to guitars, keyboards and synthesizers can also be heard in their music. The interpretation is based on electronic sounds. The lyrics of the band are lyrical and partly influenced by Dadaism . You can also see references to bands like The Smiths , for example in the cover song Some Girls are bigger than Others . In 2007 the band released an album called Girls Music , which mainly deals with the nightlife in a fictional big city. On October 5, 2012, the band's second album was released with the title The Fake of the World .

In 2010 the band performed in the German pavilion at the 2010 Expo in Shanghai . In 2011 the band won the protest song competition announced by Spex magazine and the Internet radio station ByteFM with their title Fortress Europe .
