Gueifães is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Gueifães belongs to the district Maia in the district of Porto . The community had an area of 2.9 km² and 11,992 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the parishes of Gueifães, Maia and Vermoim were merged to form the new parish Cidade da Maia .
