The Região Norte (German Region North ) is a region of Portugal . It includes the districts of Viana do Castelo , Porto , Vila Real , Bragança and Braga as a whole, as well as parts of the districts of Aveiro , Viseu and Guarda .
The neighboring region in the south is Região Centro . The Região Norte borders on Spain to the north and east . To the west is the Atlantic Ocean .
The area of the Região Norte covers 21,284 km². The region has a population of 3,689,713 inhabitants (2013).
