The Região Centro (German Region Mitte ) is a region of Portugal . It includes the districts of Coimbra and Castelo Branco in its entirety, plus most of the districts of Aveiro , Viseu and Guarda , the northern part of the Lisbon district , three quarters of the Leiria district and a district of the Santarém district .

Neighboring regions are Região Norte in the north, Alentejo and Região de Lisboa in the south. The region borders on Spain to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.

The area covers 28,200 km². The region has a population of 2,327,026 (as of 2013).

The region is divided into eight statistical sub-regions:
