Sprung Aus den Wolken is a band from Berlin. It was founded in 1980 by Kiddy Citny . Citny is still the head of the band, which had frequently changing members, including Alexander Hacke , Jochen Arbeit and Peter Prima .
history
In the early 1980s the band was part of the Berlin "Geniale Dilletanten Movement" and appeared in 1981 at the " Genialer Dilletanten Festival ". Together with Mechanik Destruktiw Komandöh and the Einstürzende Neubauten , they toured West Germany as “The Berlin Disease” in the same year.
Sprung Aus Den Wolken released an EP for the first time on ZickZack in 1981 , followed by further releases on the in-house record label Faux Pas in 1982 and 1983 , and then on the French label Les Disques Du Soleil Et De L'Acier until 1991 . The piece Pas Attendre was part of the soundtrack of Wim Wenders ' film Der Himmel über Berlin .
With the end of the Neue Deutsche Welle, their style also changed. The minimalist crossover of new wave, industrial and dub gave way to stronger techno influences. For many years after 1991 little was heard from them. After a series of new and re-releases of older material since 2004 on the labels Vinyl on Demand and Klanggalerie , the band is officially active again, Renault Schubert has been a member since 2009.
