Big Mosque Buggingen

The Great Mosque in Buggingen ( Buggingen Ulu Camii ) in the southwest of Baden-Württemberg is a mosque of the Turkish-Islamic Union of the Institute for Religion (DITIB). It stands just outside the small town in the Kalisiedlung industrial park . Originally, over a thousand people worked in the Buggingen potash mine, including several hundred guest workers from Turkey, who then stayed with their families in the town on a permanent basis. This was the reason for the construction of the mosque from 1995 to 2002. It is one of the largest mosques in the state and can accommodate 200 people. The local sponsor is the Turkish-Islamic Association Buggingen.

In cooperation with the Academy of Police Baden-Württemberg in Freiburg, seminars on intercultural competence for police officers and employees of immigration authorities have been held in the mosque since 2006 . Since 2010, the DRK has also been holding blood donation campaigns in the mosque, separately for women and men.
