The Great Synagogue in Bydgoszcz was built in 1884 at today's ul. Pod Blankami in the then Prussian Bromberg (now Bydgoszcz in Polish ) on the site of the wooden synagogue built in 1834.

The synagogue was one of the largest structures in Bydgoszcz until it was destroyed in 1939. It offered space for up to 500 people. The architect of the synagogue was Alfred Muttrey .
