Fritz Koenig: Large gate figure, bronze, 1985/86, Tucherpark, Munich

Large gate figure is a constructivist sculpture by the German sculptor Fritz Koenig . It was bought in 1986 by the then Bayerische Vereinsbank and installed in the Tucherpark sculpture garden in Munich . The sculpture is made of bronze and 640 cm high.

The work of art consists of two supporting pillars. On top of them, standing on a pedestal, rest two horizontal tubular elements that face each other without being connected. The work of art, created after a trip to Japan in 1985, is reminiscent of a Japanese torii .
