Anthony Michael Milone

Anthony Michael Milone (born September 24, 1932 in Omaha ; † May 17, 2018 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Great Falls-Billings .

Life

Anthony Michael Milone studied philosophy and theology at the seminary of the Abbey of Conception in Conception in the US state of Missouri, as well as at the Pontifical North American College and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome . He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Omaha on December 15, 1957 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Omaha and titular bishop of Plestia on November 10, 1981 . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on January 6th of the following year ; Co-consecrators were Eduardo Martínez Somalo , Substitute of the State Secretariat , and Lucas Moreira Neves OP , Secretary of the Congregation for Bishops .

He was appointed Bishop of Great Falls-Billings by John Paul II on December 14, 1987, and was instituted on February 23 of the following year.

On July 12, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his early resignation request.
