The large stone grave Westerkappeln is a grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near the Seeste district, which belongs to the municipality of Westerkappeln, in the Tecklenburger Land region ( Steinfurt district ), North Rhine-Westphalia . It bears the Sprockhoff number 982.

The grave is located on the western edge of Bramscher road about halfway between Westerkappeln and the Mittellandkanal in the peasants belonging Seeste place Niederdorf.
description
The complex is badly damaged and consists of ten stones. Two stones have been integrated into a modern wall. The others are lying around. Two of them are likely to be capstones. In 1807 an excavation was carried out by the Count of Münster, and numerous ceramics from the time of the funnel beaker were found, including a well-preserved vessel known as the "Seester foot vase". The grave was already in very poor condition when it was described by Müller in 1867. Several cap stones were already missing and some of the wall stones had fallen over. In 1983, Müller and Reimers stated the dimensions of the burial chamber as 25 paces long and 5 paces wide.
