The Groebisches Institut was a family education institution (scholarship house) of the noble house Groeben in Königsberg i. Pr.

history

In 1711, a year before his death, the royal Prussian governor of Osterode and Hohenstein Friedrich von der Groeben founded the institute. In addition, on April 8, 1711, he donated four family majorities - Neudörfchen, Ponarien , Groß Schwansfeld and Ludwigsdorf, which had to contribute to the financing of the Harnau estate . The institute existed on the Kneiphof until the late 19th century . The scholarship was granted in the form of free board, accommodation and tuition. In 1898 the house was taken over by the Corps Masovia .
