history

The pit Hermann joy was on April 3, 1867 Lead , copper and zinc awarded . In the Berechtsamsakte there is only scant evidence. It is mentioned that the mining, lead and zinc production company in Stolberg and in Westphalia was the owner from September 14, 1892. On January 31, 1939, the new owner was the “ Société Anonyme des Mines et Fonderies de Zinc de la Vieille-Montagne ” founded in 1837 by the Belgian banker and industrialist François-Dominique Mosselman . In the period from 1853 to 1881, 80 t of blende and 170 t of lead ore were mined. Incidentally, according to Buff, the hallway was numb. However, a core drilling sunk in 1967 produced the result that it was a prospective occurrence.
