The Königsforst mine is a former iron mine in the Bensberg ore district in Cologne-Rath / Heumar .

history

On November 10, 1940, Paul Otto Lippig submitted a request for encouragement under the name Paul for iron ore in an 8 m deep shaft 400 m southwest of the Forsbach forester's house . Since the earlier documents about the mine had been lost by the mining authorities, a new authorization file had to be created. For this purpose, on December 11, 1940, Lippig submitted documents from his holdings on the presumption of Paul, with which a new authorization file could be created. It was found in the Freie Presse mine field, which had previously been lent on lignite . During the inspection of the finds on November 26, 1940, a bank of ore with a thickness of ½ m was revealed. The discovery was recognized on February 18, 1941. On August 19, 1941, the award on iron took place under the name of Königsforst. Nothing is known about the operating activities.
