Basic exercise

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In strength training, a basic exercise is an exercise in which at least two joints are moved and a large number of muscles are used. Such an exercise is therefore not limited to individual muscles or small muscle groups, but trains large parts of the whole body at the same time. Since such exercises are the basis of strength training, they are called the basic exercises.

Most prominent examples of basic exercises are the squat , bench press, and deadlift .
