Grynge

Grynge

Grynge is a fishing place ( Swedish fiskeläge ) on the Gryngudd peninsula in Gammelgarn on the Swedish island of Gotland . It is one of the eleven fishing stations classified as “independent Reich interests”. In Grynge there is no longer any fishing, the cabins function as holiday homes. The holiday home area of the same name is located north of the fishing spot.

The fishing site consists of 21 stone huts in groups. Dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, they vary in size and shape, but are mostly built for tile roofs, although none of the huts have one. Behind and in front of the fishing site there are net gardens ( Swedish Gistgardi ) in which fishing nets were hung to dry.
