Guápulo is a district of the Ecuadorian capital Quito . It is identical to an electoral district ( parroquia electional urbana ). The parish was founded as a result of political elections in October 2004 when the city of Quito was divided into 19 municipal electoral wards.

In the city district, a street leads down a slope to the center. The narrow and winding streets are characteristic. The church of Guápulo, built in the 17th century, with an associated monastery is the most important building. Guápulo is also known for its alternative art and cultural scene.
