Gu Tan

Gu Tan ( Chinese  顧 譚  /  顾 谭 , Pinyin Gù Tán ) was an official of the Wu Dynasty at the time of the Three Kingdoms in ancient China.

His father Gu Shao, the son of Gu Yong, married a daughter, Sun Ces . As a youth, Gu Tan entered the service of Crown Prince Sun Deng . After his death in 241 he stayed at court and got between the front lines in the quarrel between princes Sun He and Sun Ba . At first he tried to mediate like Lu Xun , but Sun He banished him with his brother Gu Cheng to Jiao Province (today's northern Vietnam ).
