Guaco

Guaco is a tropical music and salsa band from Venezuela.

Career

Guaco was founded in Maracaibo in 1968 by Mario Viloria and Gustavo Aguado. It started out as a folkloric Gaita Zuliana group. In the 1970s, Guaco increasingly took up elements of salsa, such as the use of wind instruments. Today Guaco plays a mixture of salsa, pop, jazz, funk, rock and roll and Colombian vallenato. It is one of the style-forming groups of Tropical Music. Guaco has toured the USA , Europe and Japan several times .
