Guaire Aidne

Guaire Aidne [ 'guarʴe' aðʴnʴe ], actually Guaire Aidne mac Colmáin , is the name of a historical Irish king of Connacht . He ruled in the second half of the 7th century and is also passed down as an actor in two mythical / historical legends of the Celtic mythology of Ireland .

Guaire Aidne is in the story Caithréim Cellaig ("The career of Cellach") the main enemy of Bishop Cellach and his brother King Muiredach, both of whom he has murdered.

In Scéla Cano meic Gartnáin (“The story of Canos, Gartnan's son”) he is the father of Créd, with whom the Scottish prince Cano, who has fled, falls in love.
