Guasdualito is a city in the Venezuelan state of Apure and an important border point between Venezuela and Colombia. Guasdualito is closely associated with the Colombian city of Arauca . It is the administrative seat of the Páez district. The city had around 105,000 inhabitants in 2001.
history
The Achaguas lived in this region when the Europeans arrived in the early 16th century. The Welsers visited this region during their battles. In 1750 a hacienda is mentioned near the Guasdualito region. In 1765 Guasdualito is already considered a settlement.
