Guerz
Guerz was a Persian measure of length. The Persian large cubit was used under the names Guese, Gueza, Gueze or Guerz . In addition, there was the royal and the common. All were different in length and ranged from
- 1 guerz = 436 Paris lines = 0.983 meters in Bender-Abassi (Gomron) or
- 1 Guerz = 421.5 Paris lines = 0.95 meters in Ispahan and Tauris bis
The royal gueze or guers was
- 1 Guers = 419 4/5 Paris lines = 0.946 meters
The usual gueze for the retail trade corresponded
- 1 gueze = 279 9/10 Paris lines = 0.63 meters
The ratio of the latter two measures was: ordinary = ⅔ royal.
