Gugun Blues Shelter
Gugun Blues Shelter is an Indonesian blues rock - band from Jakarta .
The band, founded in Jakarta in 2004, consists of Gugun (guitar, vocals), Jono (bass) and Bowie (drums). Originally the band was called Blues Bug, after various name changes it eventually became Gugun Blues Band, named after its singer and guitarist. In terms of style, the band is based on Jimi Hendrix , Johnny Winter , Stevie Ray Vaughan and Led Zeppelin . However, they mostly sing in Indonesian . They are well known in their homeland and have received several awards (2007 best Indonesian album from Rolling Stone Magazine Indonesia, 2007 Gugun as best blues guitarist in Southeast Asia from MTV Trax magazine). After the name changes and the change of their record labels, their last record (2011) was released on The Off Records .
