Guido Marzulli (born July 8, 1943 in Bari , Italy ) is an Italian painter of contemporary figurative realism.

biography

He discovered his love for painting at a young age. He began his artistic activity in Bari, where he also completed his studies in economics.

In his youth he had the opportunity to meet most of the artists from the south of Italy who frequented his parents' home (both parents were talented painters) and he took an active part in debates and discussions about the content and form of modern art.

In 1970 he moved to Rome , where he studied the great European artists from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries and perfected his work in portrait and landscape formats.

In 1991 he moved to Milan .

He received awards and recognition (including the gold medal at the Biennale di Roma G. Tortelli 1990).

Stylistically it can be assigned to figurative realism .

Marzulli is convinced that a painting does not necessarily have to be the result of a search for novelty that has to be laboriously interpreted by a select few. Rather, the painting should be easy to understand, by as many people as possible, who should recognize themselves in it, and be reminded of feelings and events from life - including their own - without difficulty.

There is almost always a human figure in his work. His favorite subjects are scenes of daily life, markets, portraits, lively city scenes and seascapes.

Marzulli's works can be seen in Bari in the Pinacoteca Provinciale di Bari , in Latina in the Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Latina and in Foggia in the Museo Civico e Pinacoteca Comunale di Foggia .
