Guido Schänzler

Guido Schänzler (born October 31, 1965 ) is a German badminton player .

Private life

Schänzler is married and has two sons who also both play badminton. The younger son Lars has already won several German youth championships. He lives near Cologne.

Career

Guido Schänzler won after numerous junior titles in 1985 with bronze in men's doubles, his first medal at the German individual championships for adults. A year later he rose to silver in doubles and in 1987 he was the first German champion in men's singles. In 1988 and 1989 he was able to defend the individual title. In 1989 and 1991 he took part in the Badminton World Championship.
