The Guildford Civic Hall was a concert and entertainment venue in Guildford , Surrey .

The building, which mainly housed concerts and art exhibitions, opened in 1962 with a maximum audience capacity of 1700 people at music events. Internationally known artists such as Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler have performed here.

In January 2004 the hall was closed and demolished. By 2010, a new concert building was planned at a cost of £ 26 million that opened as G Live in September 2011 .
