Gun Jacobson (* 1930 in Sundsvall , Sweden ; † 1996 ) was a Swedish writer . She gained fame primarily through her youth novels .

Life

Jacobson worked as a primary school teacher and made her debut with Fel spår in 1966 . As a teacher, she decided to write about young people who hate school. Above all, Jacobson wrote socially critical novels, her best known work is Peter's Baby . The novel is about a 16-year-old boy who suddenly has to look after his newborn daughter by himself. Nobody trusts him to handle the situation, but he decides to show everyone. In Thank you, shut up: Alexandra and Manolis are looking for friends , Jacobson describes what it is like to come to a new country as immigrants.

With Salamander , Jacobson changed the genre and tried a fantasy novel. But since the response was very cautious, she switched back to her usual realistic style.
