Gundu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gundu is an archaeological site in Zambia 30 kilometers as the crow flies northwest of Lundazi , west of the Luangwa valley .

Gundu is classified as Late Iron Age. The found pottery is attributed to the Luangwa tradition, which is assigned to matrilineally organized Bantu. It is found to be similar to finds on the Batoka Plateau south of Kansanshi . A spread of this ceramic as a commercial good is not excluded.

A heavy rubstone is also referred to as a gundu.
