history

On March 1, 1932, a lease agreement was signed between the "Club Spiel und Sport Northeim" and Rhumemühle AG. The lease amount was 400 Reichsmarks per year and the contract lasted until March 1, 1950. On October 9, 1932, the "Mühlenkamp" sports field was inaugurated with the "SpVgg Kassel - SuS Northeim" game. On November 10, 1933, the lease was transferred to "Northeimer Sportclub eV". In the summer of 1935, new grandstands were inaugurated with the game for the Tschammer Cup between "SC Northeim" and "Arminia Hannover". On February 26, 1936, the lease was transferred to the city of Northeim. In 1950 the lease contract between Rhumemühle AG and the city of Northeim was renewed. On the occasion of the 10th Gustav Wegner memorial competition, the name was changed to "Gustav Wegner Kampfbahn" in 1956.

In 1990 the "Gustav-Wegner-Kampfbahn" was renamed "Gustav-Wegner-Stadion". On April 1, 1992 "FC Eintracht Northeim" was founded from the soccer departments of "SuS Northeim", "VfB Northeim" and "Sultmershagener FC". On September 21, 1994, City-Center-Grafenhof, the city of Northeim and FC Eintracht Northeim made a joint decision to renew the grandstand and start renovation work. On May 20, 1995 the new grandstand was inaugurated with a grandstand festival. "FC Eintracht Northeim" has been running the stadium independently since 2010. The city of Northeim remains the owner.

In addition to the grass pitch, a new artificial grass pitch has been available since late autumn 2015, replacing the previous ash pitch and thus significantly simplifying training and match operations.
