In 1821 he founded the steel office GE Dellschau GmbH (Prenzlauer Str. 25-27) on Schöneberger Ufer in Berlin . At that time iron was still unknown as a building material. When iron began to be used in buildings, old railway tracks were mainly used. Dellschau Stahlbau GmbH became a subsidiary . While initially trading in sheet steel, the company later developed into an iron and girder trade, bridge building institute and iron construction workshops.
