Gustav Schmädel
Gustav Ritter von Schmädel (before 1878 in Munich - after 1902) was a German theater actor , singer ( bass ) and opera director.
Life
Schmädel began his stage career in Essen in 1878, was then engaged in Aachen (1880), Frankfurt (1881), Trier (1882), Sondershausen (1883), worked at the city theater in Strasbourg from 1883 to 1890, then in Aachen, Stettin, Augsburg and joined the association of the court theater in Neustrelitz in 1895, where he worked successfully as an opera director and bassist until at least 1902.
His skillful playing served him well in both opera and operetta, and his appearance in fine-comic roles was particularly praised. The following should be emphasized by name: "Cellar master" ( Undine ), "Knight from Swabia" ( armorer ), "Czupan" ( Gypsy baron ) etc.
