Gvendarlaug in Bjarnarfjörður

The Gvendarlaug in Bjarnarfjörður is a small enclosed hot spring in the Westfjords of Iceland .

It is located by the Klúka farm on Strandarvegur, road 643, and is a listed building. The new swimming pool nearby is also called Gvendarlaug. It is said that the bishop of Hólar , Guðmundur góði Arason (1161–1237) is said to have consecrated the water. Gvendur is the diminutive of the name Guðmundur. There are other Gvendarlaugar and Gvendarbrunnar in Iceland that are said to have healing properties.
