Serge Pedini (born January 12, 1924 in Nice , † November 15, 2010 in Cagnes-sur-Mer ) was a French football player .

Career

The 168 centimeter tall Pedini, who was called up both in central defense and in defensive midfield , was in the squad of the EF Nice-Côte d'Azur from 1943 , which in this phase of the Second World War represented the OGC Nice at the unofficial event participated for the French championship. He gained his first experience in the top French league and was taken over in 1944 when the club teams were re-admitted to the team of the OGC Nice. When the official game operations were resumed in the 1945/46 season, he had to compete with his club in the second division and became a regular player after he had not gotten past occasional missions.

In 1946 he moved to second division rivals FC Sochaux , where he also got a permanent place in the first team at a time when substitutions and substitutions were not yet possible. At the end of the 1946/47 season he rose with the team and then made his official first division debut. With Sochaux he established himself in the upper middle of the table in the following years before returning to his ex-club Nice in 1950. He then spent two more years in the elite class of French football before ending his professional career for the time being at the age of 31 in 1955. He wore the jersey of the amateur club Rapid Menton from the Nice region for the duration of the 1955/56 season , before he returned to the professional field in 1956 with his contract signature with the second division club FC Sète . In Sète he was mostly not a regular and could not build on previous successes with a twelfth place in the second division. In 1957, at the age of 33, he finally ended his professional career after 195 first division games with five goals and 111 second division games with seven goals. He then worked as a representative in the electrical industry and continued to play football for a lower-class club from Villenave-d'Ornon . From 1958 to 1963 he worked as a coach for the club; However, he did not take over a coaching post in the upper leagues.
