Gyula Dávid

Gyula Dávid (born May 6, 1913 in Budapest ; † March 14, 1977 there ) was a Hungarian composer.

Dávid was a student of Zoltán Kodály and worked as a violist in the Budapest Municipal Orchestra. From 1945 to 1949 he directed the orchestra of the National Theater, after which he was professor of chamber music. He composed four symphonies and a sinfonietta, a violin, a horn and a viola concerto (1950), choral works and chamber music.
