Tangled fiber

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the natural fiber industry, random fibers are referred to as fiber collectives whose individual fibers or fiber bundles do not have a preferred orientation. The fibers in these collectives are in a confused scattered position (tangled position). Random fibers are contrasted with longitudinal fibers in which the fibers are preferably oriented in one direction.

Random fibers, for example random fiber hemp and random fiber flax , play a role especially in modern short fiber digestions and uses. These include, above all, uses for cellulose products such as cigarette paper and other special papers , nonwovens and natural fiber-reinforced plastics .
