Longitudinal fiber

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the natural fiber industry, fiber collectives in which the fibers are preferably oriented in one direction are called longitudinal fibers. Longitudinal fibers are contrasted with random fibers whose individual fibers or fiber bundles do not have a preferred orientation.

Longitudinal fibers, for example longitudinal fiber hemp and longitudinal fiber flax , play a role above all in the fiber breakdown of long fibers . These include, above all, the digestions for uses in textile processing, for example in the clothing industry and in the manufacture of other textiles.
