H + is the umbrella organization for public and private Swiss hospitals , clinics and care institutions. As a national association, H + looks after the interests of its members as a service provider and employer.

history

On September 28, 1930, the Association of Swiss Hospitals (VESKA) was founded in Aarau with the aim of «promoting Swiss hospitals». In the founding years, this included an intensive discussion of tariff issues and efforts to achieve uniform cost accounting for members. VESKA standards were drawn up for bandages and joint purchasing was organized. During the war years, a food management system was operated in the hospitals together with the federal government.

In 1995, as part of a revision of the articles of association, the association was given the current name “H + Die Spitäler der Schweiz” and in 2001 the office was moved to Bern . The educational center of German-speaking Switzerland “H + Bildung” remained in Aarau . In western Switzerland, H +, the Swiss professional association of nursing women and nurses SBK, and the Swiss Red Cross have put their training centers under one roof, the “Espace Compétences” in Cully.

H + education

H + Bildung is the technical and management school of H + Die Spitäler der Schweiz (formerly VESKA, Vereinigung Schweizerischer KrankenAnstalten).

The hiring of a full-time education officer and the offer of the first leadership and specialist courses in German and French began as early as 1974. Today, the former VESKA operates under the name "H + Die Spitäler der Schweiz" based in Bern and the Bildungszentrum Deutschschweiz as a separate association "H + Education" in Aarau .

H + Education reaches more than 3000 people every year with its seminars.
