Hematochrome

The Hämatochrom (from ancient Greek αἷμα Haima "blood" and χρῶμα chroma "color") is a yellow to red coloring carotinoidartiges , dissolved in fat droplets pigment . This occurs as a dye in some green algae (e.g. Haematococcus pluvialis and some of the Chlamydomonadales such as Chlamydomonas ) and as a red color in blood algae , a group of cyanobacteria . Hematochrome has been identified as astaxanthin .
