The Hôtel Radix de Sainte-Foix is a Hôtel particulier in the 9th arrondissement of Paris . The building, built in the 18th century, is located 1-3, rue de Caumartin / 2, boulevard de la Madeleine.

history

The Hôtel Radix de Sainte-Foix was built in 1779 according to the plans of the architect André Aubert († 1784) for the tax farmer Charles Marin-Delahaye. In 1780, Maximilien Radix de Sainte-Foix (1736–1810), who was Surintendant des Finances des Ancien Régime , moved into the building that is named after him today. From 1789 Mirabeau lived in the Hôtel Radix de Sainte-Foix.

architecture

The Hôtel Radix de Sainte-Foix consists of a round building facing the Boulevard de la Madeleine and two adjoining structures that enclose an inner courtyard. Their facades facing the street are decorated with garlands . The rotunda is decorated with allegorical reliefs depicting the music. The wall paneling and the ceiling decorations have been preserved on the first floor of the rotunda . Although the rotunda now houses an interior decoration shop, the old structure was not destroyed.
