The Pandivere ridge ( Estonian Pandivere kõrgustik ) was named after the village of Pandivere in the north Estonian rural community of Väike-Maarja in the Lääne-Viru district . It is the largest mountain range in Estonia.

The ridge stretches to the north between Rakvere and Paide and then slopes gently to the south towards Võrtsjärv . It consists mainly of limestone . The highest peaks are the Emumägi (at 166 m at the same time the highest elevation in northern Estonia), the Kellavere mägi (156 m) and the Ebavere mägi (146 m).

The spring, rivers and groundwater of the Pandivere ridge have been a state water protection area since 1988. The rich karst landscape covers a total protected area of 350,875 hectares. During the Soviet occupation of Estonia, nature was heavily used militarily and agriculturally. Above all, the heavy fertilization had caused severe environmental damage.
