A cave association is an organization with the purpose of researching or maintaining caves and other tasks in the field of caving. (e.g. training, scientific work, cave protection , research into flora and fauna, cave rescue)

Show caves are often operated or looked after by cave associations in order to make the area of ​​caving accessible to a wider public.

National umbrella associations of the cave clubs are the Association of German Cave and Karst Researchers , the Association of Austrian Cave Researchers (VÖH) and the Swiss Society for Cave Research (SGH).
