HG Cartwright
HG Cartwright (born 19th or 20th century) was an American film technician who was awarded an Oscar for technical merit in 1948 .
Working life
A longtime Paramount Pictures employee HG Cartwright was employed in the studio's tech section working with Farciot Edouart , Charles R. Daily and Hal Corl . The three men were awarded the Class III certificate in 1948 for their outstanding work for the Paramount Studios photography and design department. They received the award, the so-called “Technology Oscar”, “for the first application of a special anti-solarizing glass with a high depth background using a point arc projector” (“for the first application of a special anti-solarizing glass to high-intensity background and spot arc projectors ").
