HAPS ( acronym for H aushalts- A llerlei p raktisch s erviert) was a cooking and household program on television in the GDR .

HAPS was produced in the Ostseestudio Rostock as the successor to the series Der Fernsehkoch Recommends , and it was broadcast monthly on Tuesdays in the evening program. In addition to cooking recipes , the content included various kitchen and household tips, instructions for mixed drinks and the presentation of current household appliances. “Celebrities cook at HAPS” was a regular feature of the program.

Shortly after the fall of the Wall , in one of the last episodes of HAPS , the ZDF television chef Max Inzinger was a guest and explained to viewers of GDR television how to eat a kiwi properly.

In 2014 the DDR-TV-Archiv series released the double DVD Das Beste aus dem Ratgeber-TV , which contains the first episode of HAPS from December 5, 1983. In this episode, the hand mixer and mixer "AKA electric RG28" from the VEB Elektrogerätewerk Suhl combine is presented.
